Dj Siens - Hip-Hop Jan/Fev 96

So we continue our 'Tour de France' with Siens's first tape.
Needless to say this tape is Da Bomb.

Dj Siens - Hip-Hop 2

Number 2. Props to SOUL for this one.

Dj Siens - Hip-Hop 3

Another jewel by Siens. 1996 is the year.

Dj Siens - Tape 4

Siens has made lots of good tapes. His technique, creativity and flair to find rare songs and mix them skillfully together make his tapes stand out. This time it's a US hip-hop selection with some French freestyles. Nice athmosphere on this one.

Dj Fab - 2nd Voyage 100% Hip Hop

Second installement of this series, you can find the first one here. This one came out in 1997.
Big up to my man Just' Digga for this tape!

Dj LBR - Down with the King V.1

This time we present you LBR's first tape. A true classic. Great intro, some blends, medleys, a KRS One megamix and last but not least features from Zhane, Rahzel AND The Jungle Brothers. Just that!
1996 is the year.

Dj LBR - Down with the King V.2

LBR has featured on this blog with the Strickly Hip-Hop tape, this time it's more R&B flava with his tape 2. He started his career as a radio host and member of Double H dj Crew. He made some realy fat mixtapes. They stand out because of the amounts of blends and innovative mixes he did on his tapes which at the time in France was not so common. His tapes are all on point, with lots of blends, interludes, scratches ...He later became known for his work with AV8, being a superstar club dj, producer and so on. And he's a fan of Tapediggers. Aka the Man with the Bass.
His early tapes are all little jewels so make sure you cop this one.

Dj Kost - 100% R&B V.1

Another piece of Mixtape History right there. The 1st of the Dj Kost series. I used to buy his mixtapes in my hometown of Brussels but when this series reached Brussels it was already number 15, and so I never tought I would be able to listen to this tape but thanks to Chris it's right there. Massive shout out to him for al his hard work and money he put into making lots of mixtapes available, and in good quality. In fact, most of the  MP3 versions of French mixtapes that you'll listen to are there thanks to him so respect for his work and dedication over the years.

Dj Kost - 100% R&B V.2

Props to my man Azzedinne for making this tape available to the public.

Dj Kost - 100% R&B V.3

3rd tape by Kost. A classic in the French mixtape scene like almost all his tapes.

Dj Abdel - The Mixtape V.3

Third installement in Abdel's R&B series, featuring (at that time) exclusive songs by Fabe & Koma.

Dj Lord Chamy - Boomin'n'Jeep

This one is dedicated to all our haters out there. One Love.

Funkmaster Flex & Biz Markie - Classic Cuts (Live At Tavern On The Green)

Two legends for the price of one. You know this can't go wrong. I may have been born in the wrong place and wrong time but these mixes take me back..way back. You should have downloaded it already!

Dj Selekta - Selektape R&B Swing Vol.1

First tape in the series. Great artwork. Massive respect to Na2k for ripping this tape and making it available.

Dj Selekta - Selektape R&B Swing Vol.2

Like I've said before sometimes you just have to look at a tape cover to know if its fat or wack. This cover shows me some real inspiration and creativity and the mix is just like that. Other tapes of this dj featured on this blog, now get tape 2.

Dj Red Alert - We Can Do This

It's the Kool DJ Red Alert. Radio legend. Hip-Hop mastermind.
Wikipedia teaches us that : " Red Alert has been noted for breaking in such acts and artists as A Tribe Called Quest, Queen Latifah, and Black Sheep.[3] Red played a vital role in The Bridge Wars beginning in 1986. His legend grew immensely after being the first deejay to break the record South Bronx by Boogie Down Productions on his KISS-FM weekend radio show and club gigs in support of the Bronx-based hip hop group versus MC Shan, Marley Marl, and the Juice Crew. He holds the all-time record for the most guest appearances amongst all hip hop artists and personalities in the history of music video. "

Dj Authentik - Feat. La Umma Concept V.1

Nice mixtape. Features some indie songs, french freestyles and a mini capone & noreage mix.

Dj Keef - Rap Francais V.1

Original Bombattak - Atlantide

Original Bombattack was a French mixtape series. This is the Atlantide tape. Inspiring artwork I must say.

Tony Touch - Tape 1

A piece of history righ there. Tony Toca's first tape.

Tony Touch - Hip Hop _25 (Arrive To Get Live)

Toca with one of his classic tapes. Looking at the tracklist we can say that 93 was a good year for hip-hop.

Dj Nels - RnB & Rap Bombtape 2

One side R&B, the other side Hip-Hop, this coupled with some French freestyles, this is what this tape has to offer.

Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five - The Message

Hip-Hop and You Don't stop. Single by Hip-Hop legend Grandmaster Flash and his crew the Furious Five.
"Broken glass everywhere
People pissin' on the stairs, you know they just don't care
I can't take the smell, can't take the noise
Got no money to move out, I guess I got no choice
Rats in the front room, roaches in the back
Junkies in the alley with the baseball bat
I tried to get away but I couldn't get far".

It looks like he's describing my hood. Things haven't change much in 30 years.. Expect maybe for the clothes street kids are wearing, and the funny haircuts. But then again it's the 80's.

Dj Nicolson - Au Centre du Freestyle 1

French freestyle tape from 98.

Dj PrayOne - Dernière Prière Pour Les Wack Mcs

Gang Du Lyonnais - The French Breakery

French hip-hop has been digging in the crates for a long time. Here you got a mix where they mix all these originals together.

Dj Smoke - US Touch V.1

Dj Spinbad Ft. JS One & Dj Avee - Rocks The Casbah (The 80s Megamix

Classic tape by Spinbad that came out in 95. The greatest hits of the 80's mixed together in great fashion by Spinbad, Avee and JS-1. Worth a listen even if you don't necessarily like 80's pop music.

Dj Djel - Va T'Faire Enculer Si Ça T'Gène Mon Bruit

Member of the Don't Sleep dj crew from Marseille. Made some nice mixtapes, especially 'C'est la meme' which you can find on this blog. Tape from 2000. Don't ask me to translate the title of this mixtape.

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Dj Mehdi - 7 Kings V.1

Late French producer and superstar Dj Medhi made some tapes before becoming a superstar. This is one of them.

Dj Muksa - R&B Hip-Hop Session V.1

A lot of times you just have to look at the cover of a tape to see if it's wack or not. This tape is not an exception. Wack cover, wack mixing so to all you listeners of wack mixtapes: this one is for you!

Dj F - Hexagone V.2

Our man F is back in 2001 with a tape with mostly French rap. Some nices names on this one but I haven't listen to it so I let you decide if it's wack or fat.

Dj F - Real Hip-Hop V.3

Once again Dj F. Don't know much about this guy. Props to the original ripper of this tape, which is definitely not the thieving, tape jacking, bootlegging blog where I got this from and which pretends it's an exclusive from them. Not that we care about exclusives, especially wack tapes like this, but we appreciate people not jacking our shit saying it's them who did it.

Dj Enuff - Planet BK

This DJ doesn't need presentation. This tape came out in 95 and futures besides the classics from that period some freestyles and  an extract from a Biggie live show. Enuff has been Biggies tour dj so there's the connection. Props to SOUL for the original upload.

Dj D.Ego - Dope Blend V.2

Another DJ that has featured many times on this blog. The tape is called dope blend but unfortunately no blends in sight. Some indie songs and some more famous ones, expertly mixed by our French friend.

Dj Chester & Dj Cream - 4 Your Mouth

Chester and Cream made some nice mixtapes. The 'nique la musique the france' is their most legendary tape but they made a few other notable tapes. This time it's a one side rap and one side r&b tape, some blends and for the rest moslty commercial songs but you got Grandmaster Flash and his Message. I got a message for you; download this shit!

Cutee B - Guess who's back

This time it's a hip-hop tape by Cutee B. Not his best mixtape but I might as well drop this one.

Dj Asfalte - Special Rap Francais

Dj Asfalte has featured many times on this blog, moslty with Dj Serom. This is a solo tape with only French rap songs from 1999. Props to Na2k for the original rip!

Cutee B - R&B V.2

Same thing as previous post. Not my cup of tea.

Cutee B - R&B V.1

God knows I don't like R&B that was made after 98. This tape is from 99 so I won't recommend it but I know there are fans of this kind of music out there. Cutee B itself is a household name in the French mixtape scene, part of the Double H crew and a producer. He also made some fat tapes before he made this series. On the other hand this had a enormous commercial succes so props to him for making that dough. I would have been a broke ass dj, playing only songs from way back ignoring the demands of the younger generation for shitty music...

James Brown & Afrika Bambaataa - Unity

Cheesie Cover? Check! Afrika Bambaataa? Check! Album in tape format? Check! This gotta be the 80's! This time not a mixtape but a single by 2 cats who litteraly initiated Hip-Hop. Afrika recently donated all his vinyl collection to scholars, more info about this here.

Dj Fab — 1er Voyage 100% Hip Hop

We take you back to 96. Fab made some nice mixtapes, he even has a dj in France with the same name causing lots of confusion. I've been told this is the original one so props to him, solid tape right there.

Collis Suspect V.1

What can I say about this one? It's some kind of street tape, supposed to be an exclusive from the thieving blog but since everything they post is jacked from other sources we might as well post it here. Nothing special to see here.

Dj F & Dj Sample — West Side Story Vol.1

Many mixtape blogs have shared some rare stuff and made us discover sounds from all over the world. But now you have a new kind of blog where they just repost other their stuff, without mentioning the original source and when asked to do so starting acting all crazy.
So we have this blog which is litteraly reposting (hours after being posted) our tapes without giving a reference to our blog, we might as well play their little game.
So props to the original poster, wherever/whoever he is, and middlefinger to this bunch of thieving bitches, you know who you are.
About this tape: well, I didn't listen to it but as you can see from the cover it's a west coast special, it's french and they made the least original cover ever.

Dj Goldfingers & Mario - 110% Hip-Hop V.2

96 was a good year for hip-hop. Another French tape this time by Dj Goldfingers and Mario. No idea who Mario was but Goldfingers was quite famous, not for his tapes, he only made 3 of them ( of which 2 feature on this blog) but more for the mixcd's and radioshows he made afterwards with Dj Kost and which had a huge commercial succes. This tape is his early work and it's a first class  mix with some blends and the usual songs from that era. Straight outa the crates of one of Belgium's biggest mixtape fiends Loyd. Massive big up to him!

Dj Magicut - Debarque

Very technical, fast paced tape by a DJ who represented Belgium numerous times at the DMC championships and who is now a club and radio house dj. Or something like that.
However this tape is fire: it features lots of scratches, blends and tricks with a selection of the major hip-hop and r&b hits from the end of the 90's.

Dj Abdel - The Vibeshow

One of the first tapes I ever bought.Remember ordering this from the catalog of Double H back in the days.

Endless waiting until the postman finally came trough. It certainly delivered.
Fat intro, freestyles by Rahzel & Supernatural, great overall selection, Dj Abdel at his finest.
Classic tape.
